Dr. Philipp Roesler
is Member of the Supervisory Boards of several publicly listed companies including the energy company Fortum Corporation. He has been CEO of Hainan Cihang Charity Foundation Inc. from end of 2017 to early 2019. From 2014 until 2017 he was a member of the Managing Board and Head of the Centre for Regional Strategies of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
Dr. Roesler trained as a medical officer in the German Bundeswehr and left the military service as Stabsarzt. He studied medicine at Hanover Medical School, where he received his Ph.D. in cardiac surgery. He holds honorary doctorate degrees in Economics from the University of Hanoi and International Relations from the University of Cambodia. Dr. Roesler was born in Khanh Hung, Ba Xuyen Province (now Soc Trang Province), Vietnam, in 1973 and adopted to Germany at the age of nine months.
